1. What are your feelings on scholastic selling non-book items to children in schools?
I think it is a good idea to sell non-book items to the children but the schools want to have the children read too. I go both ways on this question.
2. Is this ethical?
My ethical's on this would be that it would be wrong to sell the children stuff that they really don't need.
3. If you were a parent would this bother you?
If I were a parent, and this would happen to me, I would be mad that Scholastic Corporation because they aren't making our children read, all the company wants is money from the kids, from the parents.
4. If you were scholastic, would you change your item list?
If I were in scholastic, I would change my list but also have the children read at the same and having fun with it. I would extent my products to the children so that they can read too.

You go both ways?...jk but youre right if the kids don't buy the books most elementary teachers if not all set aside time during class to read to them or give them books to read.
ReplyDeleteI agree, if i were a parent i would be upset because they're more worried about making money with non-book related items than they are about making sure our children have an opportunity to buy books to read.
ReplyDeleteyou make a good point. Happy Birthday.
